Frequently Asked Questions

  • No referral is required to book an appointment with me. You can reach out directly to get started.

However, seeing your GP beforehand can be really helpful. They might provide valuable insights about any ongoing health conditions or arrange blood tests that could inform our consultation and help me give you the best possible guidance.

Keep in mind: While you don't need a referral to see me, you may need one from your GP to access certain government funding options like Medicare rebates or NDIS funding for our sessions.

  • I understand that life happens, especially with little ones! Here's how my cancellation policy works:

Cancellations made 24-48 hours before your appointment: 50% of the standard appointment fee applies.

Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice or missed appointments: Full appointment fee applies.

If you or your child is unwell: No worries! If you're well enough to chat from home, I can switch your in-person appointment to a telehealth session instead. I just need 24 hours' notice to make this change.

This policy helps me manage my schedule effectively while still being flexible when unexpected situations arise.

  • To get the most out of your appointment, it's helpful to bring:

    For children under 5:

    • Your child's 'Green Book' (My Health, Learning and Development book) - this gives me great insight into their growth journey!

    Health information:

    • Any recent weights and heights you have recorded

    • Recent blood test results (if available)

    • Relevant medical records or specialist reports

    For billing:

    • Your Medicare card

    • Private health fund details (if you have cover)

Don't stress if you don't have everything! We can still have a really productive appointment. I can also help you understand what to track moving forward so future appointments are even more tailored to your child's needs.

  • Your first appointment is all about getting to know you and your child! Here's what we'll cover together:

    We'll chat about:

    • Your child's medical history and any current health concerns

    • Your nutrition goals and what you're hoping to achieve

    • Your family's current eating habits, food preferences, and lifestyle

    • Any challenges you're facing with feeding or nutrition

    I'll help you understand:

    • How specific dietary changes can support your child's health and development

    • Practical strategies that work for your family's routine

    • Next steps tailored to your child's individual needs

Before we meet: I might send you a food diary or questionnaire to complete - this helps me understand your current situation so we can dive straight into solutions during our appointment.

Time commitment: Plan for about 60 minutes together - enough time to really understand your child's needs without feeling rushed.
